On 20 September 2016, for the first time since the relaxation of sanctions mid January of this year, a top level trade delegation from Iran visited Switzerland. On the first day they were welcomed by the Swiss-Iranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry EST 1976 in Zurich.
The joint signature of a cooperation agreement between the Swiss-Iranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry EST 1976 and its sister organisation in Iran, the Iran Switzerland Chamber of Commerce, was the highlight of the reception. The agreement binds the two Chambers to mutually support each other in the organisation of meetings with authorities and companies in each respective country.
Both parties are confident that the agreement contributes to the development of an enormous economic potential and to a substantial concurrent strengthening of the position of member companies in each country. A large deal was concluded on the occasion of the reception and several other projects were initiated there.
The well-attended event attracted over invited attendees 100 including 47 esteemed guests from Iran. The setting for the announcement was in Zurich at the elite Hotel management school Belvoirpark and its renowned restaurant.
